West Coast Ivy League

Berkeley, UCLA, Stanford, Cal Tech, USC.

Its in the works.

I just responded to a similar thread in CalTech and I'm sure I'm gonna get attacked for it.

This is just plain silly. The Ivy League is an athletic conference. Berkeley, UCLA, Stanford, and USC are all part of the Pac-10. There is absolutely no way that they would form an athletic association with Cal Tech, Occidental, etc.

Unfortunately, a lot of people use the term "Ivy League" as if it meant "a collection of very good schools," something that happens to be true but is not implicit in the definition.

^^ Yes I agree with you. However, that implication of going beyond more than just athletic conference for the ivies, necessitate a similiar strictly academic backslapping club for the west coast.

TheDad, I fully agree with every word in your post. I think California1600 is just having a little fun with this and I'm down to join in on the fun.

If I could share with you my McDonald fries right now, I would. I swear.
