West Point Admissions

I am currently a junior in high school in California. First off, I want to know some of the extra curriculars, athletics, weighted gpa, and sat scores of people that were accepted to west point.

I have already passed the physical fitness test on my own and i have basically secured an congressional recommendation.

I have mostly B's with some A's in ap and normal courses. My weighted gpa is around 4.0. I took the sat my sophmore year and got a 1750 on it without classes or practice tests. I'm hoping to get 2000 or more this year. I'm in the top 20 percent of my class also.

I expect to be team captain of my schools varsity soccer team in my senior year and captain of my club team as well. Im a apart of the model U.N. club at my school. I play do other sports outside of school such as mma and skiing.

Im just curious as to what are my chances of getting in and I also want to know what other people got in with.
Thanks

Just found this: [United States Military Academy at West Point](http://www.usma.edu/class/2009/profile.asp)
Admissions standards can be lower for recruited athletes (are you DI soccer material?). If you haven’t looked into this yet, you should contact the soccer coach at West Point

It’s really hard to give chances for service academies. With the whole-person look they take, there is a lot of play between people’s differing strengths and weaknesses.

GPA averages are usually in the high 3 point-somethings.
Most accepted candidates played varsity sports, had leadership in some extracurriculars.

From what you posted, your SAT seems a bit on the low side. Your athletics looks pretty solid.

“Basically securing” congressional nomination doesn’t sound definite enough to me. Make sure you stay on top of your nomination applications. That is a go/no-go item. If you don’t end up with at least one nomination, you won’t be a cadet (per federal law).
