West Point chances?

I am a High School Sophmore who is very interested in going to West Point. To get into West Point I realize you have to be a well rounded leader which is what I have tried to do for my two years at high school/ For grades i recieve mostly A's and B's and get the occiasional C. How ever, i know m grades aren't spectacular which is why I do communitee service and extra curriculars. I'm on the golf team, baseball team, and am also wrestling next year. Im Vice-President of my class, in rotary interact club, best buddies, bread and roses, medical careers club, im also thinking of joining a few more clubs my junior year. I am also involved with communitee serive outside of school, like coaching a basketball team and stuff with my church. I plan on getting into national honors society next year which you have to have an 88 cumulative average to get in. As a junior im going to apply to the West Point Leadership Seminar (SLS) and start to get recomendations from senators and congressman. Any tips??

Rather than joining more clubs, I’d say study more and up the GPA

Hey thanks, but overall do u think i have a good shot?

You will need to earn more A’s and no more C’s, as well as do well on the PSAT, SAT or ACT to qualify for USMA. As suggested above, focus on studying more while keeping up the athletics.

What is your current GPA? The nominations to the service academies are based on the numbers: GPA and test scores. To make the first cut, you’ll need excellent academics before they will weigh the ECs. You have all sophomore year to pull up the grades, so good luck. If you really want this opportunity you will need to work hard every day.

For this summer, you could buy a PSAT study guide and spend an hour or two every day prepping. Good luck.

i am gunna be a junior next year, so this summer i have already started to study for the PSAT and my gpa is probabaly around a 3.40 and will only go up, but i do take ALL hnors so my weighted has to be even higher than that. College confidential says the average GPA is around a 3.55 so im not thth far out
