I really want to get into west point and i have become very nervous that i wont even be considered for a nomination, any tips!!

and im also going to try to get into SLS

ALSO: I was offered a job at a local store intown, but the wrestling coach also asked me to wrestle this winter, i can only do one of them, what would look better????????

SLS is supposed to be a bit more difficult to be accepted to than WP itself. Sports are important for academy admissions. They are looking for leadership. I think that you can apply for the summer program now–or very soon.

go wrestle, also SLS admissions start in january I got an email. I am on the active list since I filled out the candidate questionnaire. I would do the same if I were you.

westpointfavuzza, plain and simple, wrestle. USMA want to see an active candidate. If you wrestle this year and show hard work and determination, there is a possibility that you could be captain of the team next year, in your senior year’ which would look great on a West Point application. I personally have been captain of my school wrestling team for the past two years, and I love the sport. I’m sure if your an active guy, or girl, who enjoys contact sports, and adrenaline rushes, you will too love wrestling. Try it out, if you don’t like it you will still have one more thing to add to your West Point application.

You look like a pretty competitive applicant. The average HS GPA of cadets who were accepted last year was 3.7 and the average ACT score is somewhere in the high 20s.
Here’s a link that shows more detailed info on admission stats:

If you can afford not to work, I’d do wrestling. The academies like to see people who’ve played lots of sports. SLS is definitely a good idea. It’ll give you an opportunity to ask questions, see cadet life first-hand, and will probably help your chances of getting in. Good luck!!
