West Point Chances?

Hey everyone,

I am currently a junior, attending a public high school in Southern California. I have asked this question several times in this forum, however, I haven’t really received a good “chance”. So here I am, asking once again to chance me for West Point Class of 2021.

High School Type: Public
Ethnicity: Asian
Gender: Male

GPA: 4.0/4.0 Unweighted & 4.58/5.0 Weighted
Class Rank: 1 of 567
SAT: none
ACT: C 30 E 28 M 33 R 28 S 29 (will retake in hopes for a better score) W: not yet reported
SAT II: haven’t taken one yet. will take at the end of junior year
AP: none so far

Course load (junior): AP English Comp, AP Physics B, AP US History, AP Computer Science 1, H Trig/Pre-Calc, Spanish 4
Course load (senior, projected): AP English Lit, AP Econ/Gov, AP Calculus BC, H Physiology, Art, Visual Communications

ECs;
- currently a Life Scout (will certainly be an Eagle Scout by the time I graduate)
- Senior Patrol Leader of my troop for the past 3 years
- community service every month in our troop
- Interact Club
- Debate Club
- Boys State (?)
- will apply for SLE
- Varsity Tennis for 3 years (will be captain this year and/or next year)

I know it’s been a year since you posted and you’re well into your senior year by now, but from what I can see, you would be a good candidate for West Point. You have the scores, which you can improve, and you have the extracurriculars. You’re definitely on the right track.

Hopefully you’ve managed to take a few more academic assessments including the SAT, SATII, and AP tests, and have done well in them. On top of all of this, make sure you are demonstrating leadership in debate and interact club. Be committed to what you do and if you do achieve Eagle scout and you did go to Boy’s state, then you have pretty much maxed your leadership requirement for the application. Just work on your CFA and get those scores as high as you can.
