This is my first forum post so please excuse any Naivety, but with that being said;
Can anyone go into detail about SLE? I got into both the SLE and NASS and i chose to attend the second section of SLE for a variety reasons, and I was curious if anyone had any helpful tips that aren’t on the information packets. Also, I was wondering how competitive getting into the final session of each was and if it has any representation of my admissions chances.
Thanks for the help
The info packets explain all you need to know. It’s really not complicated. Just know that you’ll need to be able to easily carry everything that you bring, so pack light. I saw some students show up with a big suitcase and a pillow and a fan. They looked ridiculous and it was tough to run while holding all that stuff.
Getting admitted to SLE has no bearing on whether or not you’ll get admitted to WP.
Hello everyone. I was looking for information about SLE on here and found this. May I ask what your stats were when you applied? I know a good SAT score is 2000+, but I want to get a realistic idea of people that actually attended the seminar. Thank you in advance.
i would imagine that the test scores of students offered SLE spots are comparable to those of admitted cadets. 2000 would be considered a good but not exceptional SAT for someone applying to USMA. I sit on congressional interviews and when an applicant says they’ve gone to SLE it means they have at least some idea of what life at West Point is all about. a significant percentage of SLE attendees are ultimately admitted to the academy, I’ve seen 40 percent published several years ago
@Wje9164be my superscore is 1900, but my CR is low as I mentioned in my thread. However, I have around 10 clubs, a 3.9 ish GPA, sports and club leaderships, and all varsity sports, so I don’t know how much all the rest of my application will contribute to help my verbal score.
