I have a 12 x 19ft double in south quad on a co ed, non smoking floor. Looking for people in west quad who might want to room swap. Any double to be honest. Just let me know if you are interested.

I’m not interested, but 12x19 is quite large for a double – you should be able to find a good deal.

mfortuna6438:
I was assigned a double in west, why do you want to swap so badly? south and west are pretty much the exact same location.

A lot of my friends live there, plus i lived their last year and really enjoyed it. I kinda got stuck in south quad when i was trying for west. Not that its bad, but thats my reason

Does West Quad have ac? How big are the rooms? Anything you recommend to up the comfort level? My daughter is an incoming freshman athlete and we’re about to start thinking about what she needs. Also, is the 125 food plan a good choice?
Thanks for any info

unfortunately West doesn’t have air conditioning. Only the newly renovated halls (Mosher-Jordan, Stockwell, Couzens, and North Quad) do. University Housing will install an air conditioner in your residence hall room if you have allergic rhinitis and/or asthma. Medical documentation is required.

Room dimensions will be emailed during the first week of August. West Quad (along with South) have relatively large rooms.

The 125 food plan is quite popular too. During the first month you are welcome to change it without penalization, in case its not fitting.

My son’s room in West Quad was 12 x 19 and did have air conditioning, which he was not expecting. Most rooms do not have air conditioning, but some, like his, have a window air conditioner. He and his roommate did not bunk or loft their beds and they added a futon, a TV and TV stand, a refrigerator, a microwave, floor lamps by the beds and an 8 x 10 or so area rug. The room did not seem crowded. They stored things under the beds and futon, in the closets, and in the TV stand and a small plastic set of drawers besides using the provided furniture. I also have daughters and the amount of stuff they have taken to college is much greater than what he takes. I can’t remember which meal plan he had but I think the 125 sounds about right, maybe a little low. You were able to carry meals from first semester over to second semester so guessing a little high first semester and then lowering the plan if indicated for second semester wasn’t a problem.

Sounds like quite a lot fits in the room. Re. the meal plan, I was thinking that many West Quad meals would be taken at the union concessions. Not sure about that.
