West Virginia University

Yes. We visited once, but plan to return to tour the nursing department.

UDel…

With an ACT 24, that puts her near the bottom 25% of admitted students. That could be a problem since those are often special admits…athletes, etc.

Tuition …$24,240
Student Comprehensive Fee …$450
Student Health Fee … $486
Student Center Fee…$232
NSO Fee… $180
Housing Cost… $6084
Dining Cost… $3810
Books… $1000
Total Tuition, R&B, books, and fees per Year… $36482

Plus travel, misc costs…2000

Total CoA…$38,482

Out of state COA for UDel is about $38k+ per year. Is that ok?

Where else is she considering? Does she still want big football and warm weather, too?

Honda1955, if your D is willing to come further south, look at East Carolina University.
It’s a big state u. with warm weather, football, lower oos tuition than most states and a very strong nursing program. It is not a direct admit program though, if that makes a difference.

Honda1955, is financial aid a concern for you? OOS students do not get outstanding financial aid packages, unless student has a “hook”, like athlete, etc. Does your D have any hooks of sort that a large Southern public school would want?

Cost is always a consideration these days!

I didn’t see that, she does play varsity sports, you said!

You might want to look at the nursing and athletic forums/threads. I think Kathiep had WVU pegged very accurately and mom2 did the same for UDel.

James Madison and George Mason are popular warmer weather, but not deep south options in our area
