I got into both schools and will most likely take criminal justice. Which school would you choose?

West Virginia
-5 hours away from home
-more expensive
-best friend might go here
-would get to me more independent here

Montclair
-around 45 minutes away (too close IMO)
-cheaper
-some one I know may go here
-probably would still hang w/ old friends a lot since I'd be in the area

I feel as though from your list, you would rather go to WVU over Montclair. Cost-wise, WVU is $14,600 per year tuition and $7,046 room/board… Montclair is $8,895 tuition plus $9,500 room/board… there is a slight difference in price, but I think you should visit both schools to see where you really fit.

I, personally, am trying to figure out if I prefer the 45 minute away school (which isn’t super close) or the 6-10 hour away school. Good luck! Congrats on your acceptances.

Couldn’t get two more different schools. A lot depends on what kind of person you are.

Personally, I’d get out of Jersey (I’m from NJ). Going to Montclair, hanging out with hs friends…that’s the easy predictable way, but in the long run probably not the best. College is the time to try something new and different. WVU sounds like a lot more fun!

i would also say West Virginia, if youre looking for of a more traditional college experience.

one of my best friends goes to Montclair and is really not enjoying it. she says a lot of the girls are superficial and catty, and the ones that arent are commuters. were about 45 minutes away from there also, and she comes home every weekend (which could be part of the problem) to work and see her boyfriend. on the weekends, she says she only goes to frat parties when shes there and though she lieks to drink and have a good time she says its not something she loves to do all the time.

her roommate 1st semester decided to commute this one, and her other roommate is transferring. she is thinking of commuting next year because shes really not happy with the social scene there on the weekends and likes her commuter friends more than anyone else there.

with WVU youre gonna get the big DI sports, a largely residential campus, better social scene IMO, school spirit. also, its better to completely meet new people in college, not relying one HS ones thatd youd be so close to at MSU. and at least you would have one of your best friends there with you if you wanted them to be.
