As a upcoming BU freshmen I’ve been reading into the perceived differences between West and Warren, I have a few questions about the differences I’d love people to answer.

Does West have significantly more parties than Warren?

Does West have a significantly stronger sense of community than Warren or vice versa?

Is it just as easy to meet people in West than it is in Warren or vice versa?

How long is the walk from West to CAS?

Thanks and I’d love for people to answer as many of the questions as they can

omg I really want to know more too. I think I read every single thread and still can’t decide. I’m leaning toward west though. Subscribing to the thread!

“Parties” don’t really happen in dormitories - those are mostly off-campus in Allston. People do get drunk and generally have a pretty good time in both Warren Towers and West so you’ll enjoy yourself either way.

No. It’s about the same freshman “we’re all in the hole” feeling. It’s actually pretty nice to meet new friends in college.

Roughly equal.

In good weather the walk to CAS takes about 10-15 minutes (conservative). In bad weather, people take the BU Bus or the T.

The only tangible difference that I’ve experienced is that the majority of athletes live in West Campus because it is adjacent to Nickerson field, so you will see more of those. The indirect result of this is that some people are more attractive because they are fit.

My friend who lives in Warren this year told me that she wishes she lived in West because people there seem more “cool and outgoing”. It really depends what type of person who are, I guess

Mm… I’m wondering the same thing… I’m bio major/pre-med with the hopes of attending medical school, so GPA = IMPORTANTE. That means I’m going to study lots and although I’ll have (I mean, let’s cross our fingers here) social life, I’m guessing it won’t be as much. I don’t know if I should go with Warren because first, it’s basically in front of CAS and from what I’ve been reading not as much fun so I guess I won’t be so distracted? Is West really outgoing, as in people are maybe noisy at night or always hanging out in rooms/halls?

West is pretty noisy its impossible for me to study in my room but i do prefer close to total silence. Warren kids can party but there are also a lot of international asian students at warren who tend not to. West on the other hand has the athletes and CGS kids so they tend to party more.

I’m surprised that they are able to have quad rooms at Warren Towers. How are the rooms set up? My assumption is that the beds have to be actual bunk beds? Is each roommate able to have a desk, bureau, outlets and closet space. Are quads only at Warren Towers or are they at other dorms as well?
