My daughter is auditioning for Western Carolina. They say they will have admission decisions two weeks after auditions. However, they want a students commitment within 30 days. We won’t be done with auditions at that point. Has anyone had experience with this? Can a student ask for longer?
This seems to happen every year for various programs. Yes, you can ask for more time under the NACAC Principles of Good Practice - up until May 1, in fact. See this post for specifics:

@Broadwaybellemom you can totally tell WCU that you need time to decide , if she is accepted. My D was accepted there last season & just told them she couldn’t commit obviously as she had other auditions. She stayed in touch with them and it was fine.
Hello! I am a freshman MT at Western Carolina. I have asked the question for you to your program coodinator and if you would like to PM me, i’d be happy to answer any question!! @Broadwaybellemom
