Yale’s undergraduate admission site indicates today that freshmen applicants no longer need to present two achievement (SAT II) tests for Yale admission. Apparently, our friends in the cultural paradise of New Haven want to eliminate a key obstacle to completing its freshman application. I posit that Columbia’s lower admit rate this past year led directly to this decision. We got them on the run! They will do anything to drive down their acceptance rate. Will the next step be Yale frisbees in the mail?
Harvard, and Princeton also don’t require SAT II’s anymore. You must have them on the run as well.
If anything, I would think this change can more likely be attributed more generally to the drop in applicants to Yale this year, than specifically that Columbia’s acceptance rate fell (less than a percent) below theirs.
I would be pretty surprised if the admissions offices at these schools are as competitive regarding such trivialities…
What Ivies require SAT II’s now? I only took them for applications
Yes falcon, Columbia is now standing alone on the mountain top.
Columbia doesn’t require SATIIs if you submit the ACT.
lol @ this post. I’m glad you go to Columbia. Did you get rejected from Yale?
^ haha. Same.
This routine earned a gold Medal in the Olympic Mental Gymnastics competition.
UPenn also is not requiring subject tests. I guess Columbia has everyone shaking in their boots…
Is this a satirical post?
Yale realized that it could exclude undesirable applicants without SAT II tests.
^^ I don’t understand what you are saying. Could you clarify?
@MVBLoveless I was being satirical, I don’t think OP was.
@vienna man lol I hope this is a satirical post but if not yeah u got it…everyone is eating columbia’s dust…oh wait acceptance rate is not really an indicator of anything when you compare elite colleges…on the other hand yield rate tells a lot and columbia is behind Stanford, Harvard, MIT, Yale, Princeton, Penn…
Yale is also expanding its enrollment in the next few years with the addition of two new college houses…I am sure this is also a response to the cutthroat competition it is facing from columbia in terms of acceptance rate…loooool get a grip man ( unless ur joking…)
