I’ve was really impressed when I saw Whalton’s ranking on U.S news (#46!!!) and now I’m really anxious to apply. However, my parents told me their business school is funded by Walmart. Because of this, my parents are afraid of me getting a job there. I live in Houston so I have multiple questions. Will I most likely be employed by Walmart or Tyson with my future bachelors degree in Finance? Will I be able to find a job in my home state after I graduate? Is anyone working for a different company other than Tyson or Walmart in Texas?

You should be able to find a job anywhere you want. I have several friends who graduated there. One is a bond broker in Dallas and another is a marketing person in Dallas. The only person I know that works for Walmart in Arkansas graduated from Texas A&M.

Hi TurnpikeTexas35,

Thank you for your interest in the U of A. While the Walton family has certainly made several generous contributions to the U of A, the Walton College of Business is NOT funded by Wal-Mart.

We have graduates working across the country and abroad. In fact, the Walton MBA program has been ranked #1 in MBA Students Employed at Graduation by U.S. News and World Report.

If you could send us an email at uofa@uark.edu we would be more than happy to provide you with more information.

Thank you,
