Whan are decisions in?

@Yuewan are you kidding me? not sure if the Hofstra community is accepting of international students? That should be the least of your worries. We have tons of international students, and in fact, when int’l students are seeking info about colleges in the USA, Hofstra is listed as one of the better ones to consider, in terms of our diverse environment, and accommodations.

lol i think it’s pretty important for my prospective school to be accepting of me, i certainly don’t want to spend 3-4 years being ostracized or something. Well the thing is I have heard (really can’t remember where but well…) that Hofstra is not very diverse and is actually quite racially segmented. I will take it with a pinch of salt though.

My friend and both applied to Hofstra University. I had originally applied for the PALS program but I realized I wasn’t able to make the on campus interview so I emailed my admissions counselor and withdrew my application from the PALS program. My friend and I are currently waiting for our decisions to come in the mail but we were confused when we saw that the our updates on my.hofstra.edu are very different.

Hers says “A decision has been made regarding your admission to Hofstra University for the Fall Semester 2011. You will receive a letter in the mail with more information. Please note that decisions are not provided over the phone.”

Mine says “Our Admission Deans have reviewed your application and you will be receiving more information regarding your application for admission in the mail in the next two weeks.”

I was wondering if anyone who has already been accepted remembers what update they got or if there is any difference in the two. Thanks so much.

I had the first status and got in…but what were your stats?

GPA 3.1
ACT 25

Its not my top choice but I would love to be accepted. I just thought it was interesting that we have very different updates.

I honestly think you have a fair chance. Hofstra was very slow getting their decision to me…l got my packet a month almost after getting the update on myhofstra.
Don’t give up hope!

Thanks so much!!

Mine just says

Our Admission Deans have reviewed your application and you will be receiving more information regarding your application for admission in the mail in the next two weeks.
