Wharton ACT/SAT Question

Hey guys,

Quick question that I'm wrestling with in terms of SATs and ACTs.

I have really good ACTs (well on my second go-round) and not so hot but respectable SATs. However my SATII math is pretty good and I think it might be important. But further complicating the entire thing is UPenn's not accepting score choice. Here are my scores:

ACT: 35

Eng: 34
Math: 34
Reading: 35
Science: 36

Essay: 8
Writing Combined: 31

However I got an 11 on my first ACT essay...but I got a 33 composite. Should I submit both?

Also I got a 750 on MathII...worth submitting? And would I have to submit my SATIs as well?

So I guess my options are:

1) Send the 35 Composite ACT
2) Send both ACTs to show I don't suck at writing, I just had an off day (does Penn require all ACTs as well?)
3) 1/2 + SATIIs
4) 1/2 + SATI and IIs (am I required to send Is if I sent IIs?)

Thanks

Here’s the thing. Your 35 on the ACT is a fantastic score; good job! However, it’s not sufficient for Wharton, which really wants to see your Math II score. And as you noted, Penn doesn’t accept score choice, meaning you will have to send your SAT I scores.

My advice: send the Math II. Not sending it will hurt you; if you send it, Penn will consider your ACT, not your SAT I.

Regarding your ACT essay situation, your out of luck on that one. Penn will not superscore each individual section of the ACT like they do the SAT; it only looks at the highest composite score. But don’t worry! As I mentioned, a 35 is a great score, though I wish your math subscore were higher.

Best of luck to you in the admissions process. You look like a conscientious student that would be a great asset to any university!
