Hello again. Might anyone here know exactly when Wharton reveals who made the cut this Spring round? Also: Any new speculation as to how high that cut might be? I threw my hat into the ring for dual degree, Wharton/SAS, with a GPA a bit under 3.7. (Just finished my second semester with close to a 4.0 for the term, recovering from a very mediocre first.)

Well I just got into M&T so...

I think they do M&T as a seperate process. Going by what I recall my advisor saying, the Wharton folks don't even meet to make general internal transfer decisions until the 24th (tomorrow). It's too bad I didn't remember to ask her this question when we last talked...

Well they initially told me that they make the decision late june/early july.. I was surprised to hear from them so soon

penn15 - what were your stats?

Ummm without disclosing too much, I had about a 3.9 GPA and some pretty good recs from profs and activities that pertained to my interests in venture capital...

Why don't you just ask Wharton?

Congrats Penn15 - I've always heard that transferring into M&T was ridiculously hard!

Thanks. I guess I just got lucky :)

I'm sure you deserved it :)

You have to get recs for a dual-degree process transfer???

Naw, only for M&T transfer.

Penn15 were you initially a Wharton...ian?

Nope, initiallly in SEAS... and its called Whartonite lol

From talking to older students, they gather that a lot more freshmen this year are trying to transfer. So the cutoff might very well be close to the maximum it has ever been - 3.64.

Interesting.. guess I should have given it a try since I would have made that cutoff..

Decisions went out via email earlier this week. No idea about the specific cutoff, but I'm glad I can say it couldn't have been much higher than that 3.64 figure. :)

For transfering into Wharton, when is the earliest possible time one can apply to transfer from the College?

Do they simply rank all of the applicants in order of GPA and take the top students without looking at the difficulty of classes? Or is class difficulty and extracurricular activities looked at as well?

Is it harder/easier getting into the dual-degree program or just transfering into Wharton directly? Or doesn't it make a difference?

Thanks

Eastnow: the search feature on this board is quite excellent, and all of these questions have been answered quite a lot of times.

After freshman year.

No class difficulty consideration, only GPA.

No difference.
