primitive, why??? It gives you an extra year to do everything over again (ie retake SATs, more community hours, more AP credits)

if you are going to a public school, it's free anyways, so why not stay

well, i already have good ecs with over 2000 hours. I took all the APs at my school, meaning next year courses wont be rigorous at all. And I think i will get good SATs by the time I apply

oh ok my bad :(

My gpa is on the low side, but I will be taking 12 Aps and 5 honors in three years (including this year). Do you think the rigor of my courses will make up for my gpa? I am 1/466 too, if that helps.

Newsweek's rankings are based solely on the number of AP/IB tests in relation to the number of students. That doesn't mean ANYTHING. NJ public high schools that are ranked (by a local university) much lower than mine are in the top 100 on Newsweek's reports, yet we have kids going to much better colleges than them. Plus, we don't have the IB program, so nobody here has the opportunity to puruse a full IB diploma or whatever.
Someone sounds pretty bitter. I'm so sick of people bashing the report if their school doesn't rank as high as they expected. Obviously it isn't a perfect ranking, but it is still fairly accurate. You can't tell me that any school on that list is a bad school and not competitive. You conclude his school isn't competitive? Do you realize how amazing the top 20 schools on that list are? I don't think my school is ranked as high on the list as I would say it really is, but you don't see me bashing the list and being bitter. Just to be on that list is something extraordinary.

I would say you have good chances at all of them. But, how can you apply U of Chicago EA if you are applying Warton ED?

ED- binding , not single choice
EA- not binding, not single choice

You can apply both as long as you enter the ED school if accepted.
Note SCEA (Single Choice) means you can only apply to that school early. (i.e. Harvard, Yale, Stanford)

B.U.M.P.
