<p>About a little over 1/2 the class gets in RD but there are far more applications RD so the rate is much lower. With a 6% estimated admit rate RD, this means that 15 out of 16 applicants are being rejected so the CC experience is in line with what you'd expect. Even using my figures you are 2.5 times more likely to get in ED. Note that ED includes a lot of legacies and other people who have a leg up to begin with, so the higher acceptance rate is not purely a function of applying early. However, if Wharton is seriously your first choice and you can write a convincing "why Penn" essay, then ED is undoubtedly your best shot regardless of whether the Wharton ED rate is 16% or 18 or more - in the end knowing the exact statistic will not really help.</p>
