You have a great shot at every school you're applying to -- my only suggestions are to add another safety and to ditch awards 12 to 15 on your application. Those awards will only take away from what you have accomplished, as people who are much less qualified than you can receive them.

Yea ive heard that alot, that those awards arent worth adding to an application.

Hey ivy24, thanks for chancing me ... I'll reciprocate the favor right now.

Your grades are very impressive, and you seem to have challenged yourself a bit with 8 APs and many honors classes. Your SAT score is also very high, but you may want to retake Bio to redeem yourself. Your extracurriculars are great, and you demonstrate some leadership. You have a nice list of honors and special progs, but I think you should delete "AMC 10 qualifier" or "AMC 12 qualifier" because anyone can take those tests ... unless you advanced to AIME (then you should write AIME qualifier) ... You also have a nice record of volunteering. However, you don't really demonstrate an interest in economics/business in your special programs, as they seem more geared towards medicine, but this shouldn't work against you in admissions.

Overall, you're a very strong student. You should be proud of yourself.

Chances:
-UPenn Wharton: Match/low reach
-MIT Sloan: Reach
-Cornell CALS: Match
-Harvard and Princeton: Reach (they're top ivies ... hard for everyone)
-NYU Stern: Match
-Duke: Safety match
-UVA OOS: Match
-Columbia: Reach
-Carnegie Mellon Tepper: In
-Rutgers: In + probably some merit money
-Rutgers Pharamacy: Match

Good luck!

thanks ab2013. Do you know if MIT Sloan is easier to get into that MIT in general (engineering), or is it incredibly hard to get into regardless?

AMC 10 qualifier

AMC 12 qualifier

High Honor Roll

National Honor Roll

National Society of High School Scholars (NSHSS)

Who's Who

Certificate of Acceptance - Congressional Student Leadership Conference

NYLC Nomination, NYLF Nomination, NSLC Nomination, Presidential Classroom Nomination

do not mean anything. They're only going to distract the adcoms.

Sorry but ur ec's really aren't focused at all. You never really dedicated yourself. You simply did a huge variety of activities. Wharton's a reach.

Wharton is a very prestigious business school and your really going to have to work on your essays and make them unique to have a chance. I'm not sure about MIT or Harvard , however, you have a really good chance at your remaining choices.

Wharton ED, Low-Reach (Almost a match, but its Wharton)
MIT, Reach
Cornell, Match
Harvard, Reach
Princeton, Reach
NYU Stern, Match
Duke, Match
UVA, Match
Columbia, Low-Match
Carnegie Mellon, Match
Rutgers- Match

I would shorten the list a bit. You definitely need more safeties (PSU, UMD?). You should narrow it down and apply to 2 of the "reaches", 4 of the "matches", and at least 2 "safeties.

And I have to agree with equilibrium that your ECs are scattered around.

Hi,
these are my opinions if your essays and recs are good
1. UPenn Wharton
2. UPenn Wharton RD
3. MIT (Sloan undergrad school of business) 30%
4. Cornell CALS (Applied Economics and Management) 75%
5. Harvard/Princeton (econ) 35%
6. NYU Stern 80%
7. Duke (econ)
8. UVA (business)
9. Columbia- 50 %
10. Carnegie Mellon (business) in for sure
11. Rutgers Pharmacy- in for sure

Hey, id appreciate if youd chance me as well:)

hi i will be glad to chance you. could you do the same for me?
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/534699-chances-upenn-usc-ucla-etc.html

your academic stats are amazing and so are your extra curricular stuff, but the only thing i do not see is your resume is a pattern. i read that you are interested in econ/busi but i didnt really see any evidence that you are interested except for FBL

UPenn Wharton RD slight reach

MIT (Sloan undergrad school of business) slight reach

Cornell CALS (Applied Economics and Management) match

Harvard/Princeton (econ) reach

NYU Stern safety

Duke (econ) match

UVA (business) safety

Columbia match

Carnegie Mellon (business) safety

Rutgers Pharmacy safety

any more? thanks in advance

bump......

any more advice? it really helps thanks

bump...also how much better are my chances for Wharton ED than everything RD?

LOLLLLL not to sound like an ass but everyone qualifies for amc

i even qualified for aimee but i heard you shouldnt even write about being aime qualifier on the resume because so many people qualify

AMC 10 qualifier

AMC 12 qualifier

haha, yea you don't have to qualify for those. (unless your school is different, in which case, you could write something to explain)

Wait... You live in Hillsborough, FL?

haha yea i know im not putting that on the app

in our school you do need to qualify for amc, but im still not going to put that one my app.

Poisonous, no i live in Hillsborough, NJ not FL.

Why aren't you applying to other top business schools? Cal or Michigan?
