My daughter is very interest in Wharton, in fact she’s attending a summer program there right now. I know Wharton is currently about 60/40 male/female and have read something about efforts to attract more females. I was looking for opinions on how much, if any, being a female might improve her odds. She has a 4.0 unweighted gpa and SAT’s just above 700–just like many folks who get in and just like many who are rejected.

For Wharton, I'd imagine that it would marginally help. If they really wanted to change the ratio, they could have already.

I think that the summer program is good because it shows an interest in Penn, which is always good. A lot of high school kids on campus now.

A girl in my class who had similar stats with a legacy was deferred ED and then rejected at Wharton. I think leadership ECs can add a tipping factor, particularly if they're somewhat unique.

try CAS first then get wharton next.
