Say I attend the College and major in Economics there, after graduating and getting a job for a few years, is it still relatively feasible to get into Wharton for grad school, or is it a much bigger deal that I go to Wharton undergrad?

Wharton MBA is sexy.

And of course the added value of a full liberal arts undergraduate education is immeasurable ;)

immeasurable not necessarily meaning valuable here, just immeasurable.

my questions is why would you want to go to the same place for grad school as undergrad?

I dunno, I just think Penn is a fantabulous place? I know I at least wanna go there for undergrad.

So... was the answer to my question somewhere there?

Judging by the alumni rolls, a lot of people go to Penn for undergrad and then back for grad school (be it law, med, busines, or something else)...

Me, I mean sure I'd like some variety in where i spend my university days, but i'd be hard-pressed to pick a second-rate business school over Wharton for an MBA simply to "mix it up a bit"

Well. The answer to your question would be definitely. Penn undergrad is a top notch school. Wharton's MBA program takes successful students from top notch schools.

Would I get any sort of a boost from going to Penn for Undergrad or would it all be up to my GPA/EC's/job to get into the grad school?

Are you asking if Wharton MBA prefers Penn undergrads to undergrads from other schools?

I think that's unlikely.

Yes, they do prefer Penn undergrads (but it's so competitive that it doesn't help all that much). This is primarily because they don't want you to have divided loyalties in where you send your alumni donation checks.
