Kinda got deferred from my EA school (Yale) and Penn’s next on my list. Anyone know what the stats are on legacies getting into Wharton RD? I’ve always planned on applying to Wharton, but at the same time, I’m wondering if I’d be better off applying to the College and attempting to transfer after, since I really want to at least get into Penn, even if I’m not in Wharton…

Oh, and to clarify, my dad went to Wharton, not the College, if that makes any difference as to what “brand” of legacy that makes me.

where did you get 30% from?

btw OP, dont think your legacy status means much in the RD round, since you didnt apply ED. penn focuses on legacies who apply ED and show interest that it is their first choice school. so unless your dad is imporant to penn, you are just like any other applicant really.

Yeah, that's what I'd heard from a lot of people, but then people told me that legacy always helps--it just helps more ED. The 30% figure sounds a bit high to me, though--where did you get that from? I was kinda figuring Legacy RD would be higher than normal applicant RD... just not that much higher.
