Wharton or DIE!..

Just kidding about the title, but I do love Wharton with all my heart [Wharton ED-er]

Is 670CR [790W, 800M] too low for Wharton.. considering that my EC's are not mind blowing but pretty solid..!?

(President of 3 clubs, Editor-in-Chief of two different publications, Varsity Vice Captain)

Btw I am an international student (Chinese residing in US but not a resident/citizen), so does that mean I will be in the international student file or regular student file?

Please stick to constructive criticism. I'm not trolling or anything, just worried out of my mind.

You’ll be in a very competitive pool–internationals from China. I don’t think the CR score would keep you out if you have attributes they want, but much of your competition will have higher scores. Very high class rank will also be key.

Wharton gets thousands of apps from highly qualified Asian internationals who are the top students in their countries with major honors/awards. It will be tough going, though significantly easier if you are full pay.

Your 800 Math score will definitely help you out. Did you take SAT IIs?
I agree with hmom5 about the international students, but I think if you have a high class rank and a strong GPA you have a shot. I could see you possibly getting deferred, only because Wharton is almost impossible to get into. You would probably be accepted to CAS I think.

Another international her - hope you dont mind me using your thread - will it help if I am from a country that sends much less students to US than comparable countries?
I’m from Czech republic and there are very few students going to America (dunno why).
So what do you think?

Wharton is not that great… compared to Sloan at MIT! :p

International pool will be tough. The acceptance rate for internationals at top tier schools is about half of the regular acceptance rate. Your chances are decent with your ED-status

I just called the admissions office and found out that I will be in the regular pool! :]
Since I have been going to a school in US, that means I’m not an international student–although I would still be considered international in terms of financial assistance :/…

But STILL! I’m so glad :)) Would this change my chances??

Additional Info:

GPA: 4.77 weighted
3.97 un-weighted
RANK: 4 out of 800ish
SAT2: Chinese800, MathII780 (Takin Chem and Physics this month, expecting 750ish)

do you need financial aid? Doing ED and being international for financial aid means they’ll give you hardly anything at all.

Well your rank and GPA are awesome, and so are your SAT IIs. A 780 on Math II will DEFINITELY help.

You’re still an ORM, but I think the fact that you’re considered a U.S. student significantly increases your chances.
I can’t say whether you’ll be admitted/deferred, as it’s somewhat unpredictable, but I don’t see an outright rejection.
Best of luck!

Sorry but those ECs are weaaaaaaaak

Half the class or so has 800.

20 points will not make a difference as to whether they accept her or not. As long as she has a 750 or (preferably) above, she should be fine.
