Yeah, I agree. The problem with some of the Whartonites is that they actually believe their own hype.

well don't you think people are entitled to some degree of proudness for getting into the top business school? If no whartonite tells no other person about them being in wharton, then wharton's reputation will go down the drain.

Sure, everyone should be proud just to get into any IVY school, business or not. However, you have to keep certains things in check. You can feel like you rule the world, but don't let other people know that you think that way, just because of the school you go to.

You should absolutely be proud of Wharton. I'm so proud of having gone there. But there's a time and place for everything. Its plain insecure to brag about Wharton while you're at Penn because guess what, its not a rarity. You have 499 other classmates who are also in your Wharton graduating class, not to mention 500 other students in all the other Wharton graduating classes above you. Even in NY i-banking and consulting, sure its great to be proud of Wharton but don't make such a big deal that people get annoyed and start saying 'so what, its not a rarity there are 50-100 other people at this bank who graduated from Wharton.' Bragging too much just gives people the image that Wharton students are immature or insecure or whatever.

I completly agree...aj725. I am trying to save some of my classmates from absolutley making embarassing fools of themselves.
