Wharton Transfer

I am currently a sophomore at Washington Univ in St. Louis.

I am in the business school pursuing a double major in finance and math. I want to become an actuary.
Because Washu doesn't have an actuarial science program or a good math program, I would like to transfer to Wharton.

Besides my cumulative GPA of 4.0 and a legit reason for transfer, I do not have much to offer. My ec's are so-so.

Question is, should I bother applying? I think my interest in actuarial science may make me unique, and my GPA might give me enough edge against other applicants. But I heard Wharton is friggin hard to get into as an external transfer.

On a side note. Washu doesn't have grade inflation.

I was salutatorian in HS, SAT 2260.

Thanks for your inputs.

Yes apply. Everyone who applies as a transfer has stats which are as good as they get. Apply if you want, there is nothing guaranteed. I am also applying, but the acceptance rate is so low, nothing is predictable. Wharton accepts 25 out of the 1700-2000 transfer applicants to Penn.

In my opinion: Is it worth a shot? Yes. Should you count on getting in? No.

Thanks for the reply.

Also, no where does it say on the transfer guide that a recommendation letter is required. I do not need one, right?

And may I ask your general stats?
