I’m a rising Stern sophomore and I was wondering whether it’s realistic to transfer into Wharton for junior year? And for those that will ask, yes Stern is great, but the money is killing me and if Wharton can offer me a better package I’d switch in a heartbeat. I’m a Pennsylvania resident and I applied to Wharton ED out of high school, got deferred, then rejected.

The Wharton section is at the bottom. Some possibly relevant quotes:

All applicants are required to have completed two semesters of integral calculus, or its equivalent, as well as one semester of microeconomics and one semester of macroeconomics

It is also strongly recommended that all applicants gain proficiency in a foreign language

math courses below the level of calculus, and statistics courses without a calculus prerequisite, will not transfer to Penn.

And finally:

Students are encouraged to transfer after their freshman year because we have very few spaces available for entering juniors.

Your best bet is to CALL THE ADMISSIONS OFFICE: 215.898.7507 and set up a telephone conference to discuss your situation.

Hey Cardinal,
I just transferred from Stern to Wharton as a sophomore, and I had a pretty similar GPA to yours. If you have great essays and activities, you have an excellent shot.
