Anyone planning to transfer to Wharton anytime in the next couple years??

hahaha i don’t know about planning, but i am applying.

Wharton excepts so few transfers that planning for one would not be the best idea.

I disagree. To not apply is to reject yourself, which is worse in my opinion than being rejected from Wharton. If you believe in yourself, and you have the ambition to go, then apply. Show it on your application.

I agree with 326, but lately I’ve been thinking in just applying to CAS and take Wharton classes.

good luck with that you need like 3 seperate people to approve it and by then the class will be full

I don’t think anyone said not to apply, just not to “plan” or count on it. Most Wharton transfers are internal Penn transfers and those from outside pretty much have to have been in another rigorous business undergrad program to have the pre reqs.

wow I didn’t know that, thanks for the heads up.

yeah you have enough trouble getting into classes in the college let alone Wharton or SEAS…but if you’re in the vagelos program or something you won’t have issues

Agreed with Javous… there is no reason to expose yourself to the risk of applying to Wharton, and we can go into a long discussion about whether a business undergrad major is the best idea for an eventual MBA. I really, REALLY want to be at Penn, so I’m applying to CAS and would then do a Wharton minor.

kids from Wharton don’t need MBAs they go straight to Wall Street…maybe not this year…but typically

“those from outside pretty much have to have been in another rigorous business undergrad program to have the pre reqs”

LOL at “rigorous”…business prereqs are a joke…a couple accounting courses, a couple econs, a basic calculus course and two statistics courses…anyone with half a brain can pass these classes…it can be done in two semesters easily, and those are the requirements for junior transfers…satisfying the prereq’s should be the least of worries when it comes to applying to Wharton

Would it be wise for me to contact Penn about the actual process of taking Wharton classes as a CAS student? I don’t want to give the impression that I am applying to CAS because it is “easier” to get into.
