Hi --

I am 100% committed on being a doctor and going to medical school, but I also enjoy business and economics type things. I was wondering how feasible it is to go to Wharton undergrad (the healthcare management concentration looks appealing), and then a medical school? Is it commonly done? Would it hurt to go to wharton?

Thanks for your help!

It is entirely possible as Wharton undergrads have elective courses and one could potentially fit pre med requirements into these electives. However, Wharton is very competitive and it is probably difficult to maintain a very high GPA compared to the college at Penn. If you are not serious about pursuing business as a career you may be ruining your chances through Wharton's hard curriculum. As a student in the college you could always major in economics or take a Wharton class in health management.

you can always look into the biological basis of behavior and health systems management interschool dual minor at Penn. That's specifically what i'm looking at(i'm a transfer applicant).
