Hi, I will be a senior in high school this fall and will begin applying to colleges. I am considering Wharton Undergrad at Penn. Based on my activities and scores thus far, does it seem like I will be competitive/successful in this endeavor? What do I need to work on in order to improve my chances?

UPenn Wharton: Reach

I hope you have a few non-reaches as well; you can’t bank on reaches-for-anyone.

Your academics, scores and ECs make you competitive. All that means is that you have a shot. The review is holistic so your essays and recommendations will be important. Remember that the acceptance rate to Penn is slightly less then 10% and the rate for Wharton is lower. If you truly want to go to Wharton it also is better to apply ED because they take slightly more than half their class ED. FWIW my son’s stats were similar to yours (3.9. 34 ACT, 2 sport athlete as captain and all conference, other good ECs and leadership) and he got in ED two years ago. Bottom line is you are competitive but no one can predict success.

Can you check me out for Wharton Undergraduate?
I just wanted to know how I was doing for UPenn
