Any thoughts?

These 'versus' threads are overplayed. What exactly is your question?

how does the curriculum of the certificate program compare with that of Wharton's?

Is there any advantage over going to Wharton undergrad considering this program is certified by the renowned Kellogg school?

How do job recruiting on wall street compare for both of these?

considering that the first of these certificate programs is beginning in the fall, job recruiting information for program participants is sorta nonexistent right now, wouldn't you think?

Are you saying that Kellogg is more renowned/prestigious than Wharton?

You better check again.

Is this some kind of joke?

Kellogg (both in b-school and cereal form) is swell, but it's no Wharton. Nothing is.

And nobody would accuse me of being a Wharton fanboy here....

magnetschool welcome back to the penn forum! we missed you man.

magnetschool welcome back. So have you got into Penn yet?

Wharton certificate programs are a load of bull. I would imagine the same for Kellogg. Now an MBA on the other hand...

"Kellogg (both in b-school and cereal form) is swell, but it's no Wharton. Nothing is."

I don't know. I think MBAs from several other schools (Harvard, Stanford, MIT, Northwestern, Chicago) would be just as good as one from Wharton.

a kellogg (or harvard, or sloan, or whatever well-respected school) mba is great.

but that's not what we're talking about here.

This I know. I was (clearly) talking about the "is swell, but it's no Wharton. Nothing is" statement.

^ That statement was referring to Wharton undergrad, which is universally recognized to be without peer.

yep, was actually replying to johnnyk's statement

but i like the idea of a kellogg (cereal) mba - informative and nutritious! nobody else can eat their diploma for breakfast...

ok, so would you say it's worth it?

say you were planning to apply as a transfer to Brown University, Northwestern [for the cert. programs in business], and Wharton

Brown has a relatively high transfer rate, but no business thing
NW has a high transfer rate and a business thing that you all are saying isn't really worth it
Wharton is just wharton

If you wanted to do i-banking in the future or hedge funds, would you choose NW or Brown?

hell i'd take Penn CAS over Brown and Northwestern if you know you want business in your future
