As you can guess from the message’s title, I am debating between Wharton and Princeton. I also know that I will eventually want to enter the business world. I have obviously noticed how the major difference between these two cirriculums is that Wharton business is experiencial while Princeton economics is theoretical. As of now, I have no preference. I am just curious about other peoples’ opinions on this issue. I also am curious what most people decide to be the overall “better” option based on quality of education, prestige, social life, location, etc. While I know how one option is not good for everyone, I am still curious as to which option seems more appealing to most people.

even if people don't feel like writing a lot.. if everyone could at leat write a one word answer, "princeton" or "wharton", it would be greatly appreciated.

I say Wharton. The school is obviously one of the best at business, and you get a more "hands on" experience for the working world. The recruitment at Wharton is crazy. The firms just swarm over applicants :). I have some friends who go to Wharton and Jerome Fisher, and they get to take graduate level classes at Wharton. They're sitting in there with thirty something executives getting their MBA's...a truly incredible experience.

Either way, they're both excellent schools, and I don't think you could go wrong.

wharton :)

good job in getting accepted to both, btw!!

If you don't have a strong preference for either curriculum, I would go with Wharton, because at least at Penn you can get BOTH. It wouldn't be so great if you went in thinking you'd love theoretical economics and not be able to change, whereas at Wharton you get hands on as well as theory and you can get another degree or minor if you want.

I also think Philly is much more exciting than Princeton and you'll have a lot more options socially and culturally and it's a much more diverse city.

Princeton.

haha...rccys.. i was not accepted to both... im am just a jr... its just that i recently visited a lot of colleges and now can't stop thinking about where to apply early decision!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'd do Wharton but of course this is just me.

Wharton, even though I'm biased towards Princeton ;).

Wharton - Princeton is a summer camp.

wow... it appears that the wharton decision is near anonymous

"princeton is a summer camp" ???

Princeton lies isolated, it is small, almost all students are of the same age since there are barely any graduate and professional schools, everyone lives in dorms. Quite similar to a summer camp.

I am not putting any value into it, if a summer camp-like experience is what you want, by all means go for it.

Wharton. No question. :)

princetonnnn

Wharton. Penn owns.

i always find it amusing when people call princeton "isolated." it sits right in the middle of the nation's most densely populated state, 10 miles from that state's capital (trenton), 45 miles from philadelphia, and 50 miles from new york city. in fact, if you draw a straight line between philadelphia and new york, you'll see that princeton lies almost ON that line. they're all connected by the northeast corridor of the new jersey transit rail system.

Have you ever been on Princeton's campus? There is not much in the neighborhood. It's a really beautiful campus though, just a different environment. During ED i narrowed by choices down to pton and penn, I really like pton as well, but ended up chosing penn because of the urban environment. they are both awesome places, they just have a slightly different flavor.
