******Wharton: Why it's so great!******

Why is Wharton so great???

I’ve heard incredible things but I want to hear more…

It's "great" because people there sell their souls for money. Or at least that's the official line on campus between CAS and Whartonites. But all kidding aside- IF you only want to do Business, wharton is about as good as it gets. People walk out of Wharton with job offers- usually in finance.

Then again, let's look at the downside. True whartonites will have an easier time getting into the I-Banking industry relative to other Ivies (Harvard, Pton, Yale, Columbia- comes to mind). BUT-and here's the kicker- if you somehow decide that you DONT want to spend your youth (23-30) slaving over Excel working 90 hour weeks w/o weekends just for $$ and want to do something else... say doctor/lawyer instead- you're better off @ the other top ivies rather than Wharton.

Just my thoughts.

am a sucker for money....specially if all i have to do is sit down and use excell lol...so wharton is for me...

Just because you go to Wharton doesn't mean you have to work 90 hour weeks in an investment bank. If that's not for you, there are plenty of other high-paying jobs you can find that are much less stressful

While Wharton is widely known for being and ibanking factory and its finance dept, all of its departments are extremely strong. The average Wharton grad gets 13 job interviews.

mann they make a lot of money... i think i wanna marry a whartonite =)

Hmmm surprisingly Huntsman ppl don't make as much as I thought they would...

How much did you expect them to make right out of undergrad?

@venkater, true dat. its starting pay. u also have to include signing bonus and bonuses they get at the end of the year.

Um they make pretty much the same as every other wharton major essentially. FOr something as prestigious and selective as Huntsman where no more than 35-40 ppl graduate per year... I'd expect more. But yea, ionno, back to the OP, Wharton is great- but only if you're pretty damn sure you want to do business.
