Wharton

Regarding Wharton; if I apply next year with around a 3.7 GPA ED, is that well enough to get in, considering all the average applicant stats, SATs, etc. Also, what kind of financial aid does Upenn give for students with a 100K+ income, if any? Thanks for the info! Reply :).

I think that your gpa is a bit low...but you might have a shot ED if your SATs are good

i dont think they will give you very much fiancial aid since your over 100k income..

go to the finaid info

they give a decent amt of aid, i could go downstairs and check the brochure but im too lazy.

if u really want me too i will.

Please do so! It would be an honest favor! :)

How much do essays count for Wharton? I have great essays that really reflect my entrepreneurial interests but my test scores suck. My math are good but verbal just suck. Is that going to be a problem? I mean, they're gonna see that I can write well and my Writing SAT II is decent but my verbal SAT is just quite low; how much will it affect me given these other factors? Thanks guys.

I talked to the representative from Penn who came to my school last week and he said that the average GPA of an incoming freshman is a 3.7 so it isn't bad.

Hey thanks a lot I go to one of the three specialized high schools in the city of NY, no stuy, lol. So it is VERY hard to get that 3.6++ GPA! Thanks a lot guys, that's definately good news!

So you go to Bronx Science or Brooklyn Tech? lol, i got into those too but chose to go to a private school closer to my house.

Yeah Brooklyn Tech; it's a pretty good school. I'm in top 10% i think out of 1050 people. I would've neverg gone to a private HS. LOL. I hope colleges at least have a sense of those three schools since they're "better" than the average HS. Wharton is my dream =D.

newyorker here u go darling....
90,000 and above--->number of aided students: 406 (oddly its the highest on the chart)
average total awards: 18,803
Percent of total applicants offered aid: 63%

Nice; thank you so, so much. So ~19,000 offered. That leaves you another 7 or so for tuition and 12,000 everything else. Around 20 G A year. Gulp!

well, your familys contribution could change the stats im sure.

additionally, there is work study...
and maybe other scholarships u gained from who knows where.

but, not to be nosey, thats only roughly 1/5 of your parents income...

Well yeah; other factors such as siblings and mortgage come into play that are beyong my power :(. I want a good education though!!

well im sure it isnt unattainable...

i want to go to wharton too :)
we have similar stats...

only im from minnesota ;)

Lol, ur applying this year right? Good luck! Hopefully, ill apply next and see you there!!

no no

im a junior

next year :)

Nice! Good luck tomorrow! :-D
