@Mystic, hmm heard 2-4 get tossed around. Would be cool if it is earlier :D

I saw 2-4 being thrown around a lot

Waitlisted

waitlisted

what do you think the chances are of getting picked from the wait list? is it better to transfer your application to a different program or stay on? I’m assuming the majority of people who get accepted choose to go?

Waitlisted

Waitlisted. Really disappointed :(

what do you think the chances are of getting picked from the wait list?

Waitlisted :(

Got into San Francisco! Did anyone else get good news?

Accepted to San Francisco!

Rejected.

Stats, since I said I’d post these after results for future LBW applicants:

GPA - 3.9 unweighted
Rank - 3/489
PSAT - 204
ECs listed -
Quiz Bowl: Co-captain
Philosophy Club: Founder, President
Debate Team: co-founder, captain
Computer Science Club: co-founder, VP
Contributing researcher at a climate policy think tank.

Essay was about captaining our quizbowl team to our best record and expanding the amount of tourneys we played + the challenges and pressures associated with it all and how I tackled them. Recs were solid per the teachers I asked (both being sponsors of Philosophy and Debate) but I don’t know how credible that is seeing that I never saw the recs.

The straight-up rejection was a bit surprising but it happens. My PSAT might be to blame.

Congrats to everyone who got accepted!

Rejected! Super sad, but it’s okay… I have Yale Young Global Scholars (my first choice) to fall back on. I hope that those who were accepted have a great time. Good luck to those who were wait listed as well!

Accepted to San Francisco campus! Very thankful and excited! I applied to Upenn campus though.

Does applying for financial aid lower your chances?

At this point I’d say yes

It’s supposed to be need-blind…

It can be different on waitlist

It’s need based

If on the waitlist they see two basically similar students, same ACT, similar EC’s, and one needs monetary support and one doesn’t, odds are they’re taking the one who doesn’t need it. They have to run a business.
