What professor do you guys recommend for 31b..

Fattorini
Radko
Brown
Schubert

or they just added 2 classes with only 30 students...these are taught by TA's

I'm looking to actually learn this stuff, but at the same time I want a teacher whos fair on their test.

What do you guys think I should take. Im kind of leaning towards the smaller class, but then I'm worried about the curve..I'm thinking it would be harder...

Brown is an awesome teacher. As long as you go to lecture & do the hw, you WILL learn. His midterms are pretty tricky though, because they're conceptual problems instead of application ones. I don't know if you'll be able to get in though, cause I tried switching from Miech, and ursa says the class & waitlist is full.

Brown's supposed to be really good...but at the same time that one review said someone got a C & B in his classes and then got an A in Miech...no idea how that works but...I prefer Miech because he hands out notes. :D

Miech makes frequent computational errors. He also talks to the board. The class is not too difficult as long as you log in extra mathpracticinghours. Also, he gives you sample exams prior to midterms and final. He has this policy that if you did poorly on your first MT, that your second MT would be worth 150% its value and the first MT worth 50% of its value. If you did poorly on both, your grade will depend on how you do on the final. In this case, whatever grade you get on the final will be reduced 0.5 a grade. (Example, getting 100% --- your grade would be 95% for the quarter.) The highest available grade from either MT+MT+Final or 0.5MT+1.5MT+Final or Final-(0.5)grade becomes your earned mark. His original grading policy is 10% HW, 25% MT, 25%MT(2), and 40% Final.

Would it be worth it to drop Brown for Miech if I can only go to 2/3 of Miech's lectures every week? Do I really need to be there to learn the material? Did his class offer lecture notes? Brown's did, and he stayed pretty true to the notes.
