I'm a rising senior and my time is right around 19:00 right now. I'm still improving, but I know that this is relatively slow so my hopes aren't up, hehe. I'm really just curious what the bar is for each division in college.

Of the colleges on your list, search their athletic site and the race results if listed. You also might find race results in the school newspapers. That will give you an idea of what their current athletes are doing.
Have you been contacted by college coaches? They will tell you what kinds of times get the top slots.

D1 sub 16 or low 15 for a good XC program, D3 around low 17’s would get your foot in the door, low 16s to have a decent shot at varsity. Put in the mileage this summer and improve as much as possible this fall. Goodluck!

Another thought … are you hopeful to be recruited for D3 or to participate? Most XC and track teams take many walk-ons to fill out their squads in addition to the recruits.

Contact the coaches of the schools you are interested in. Ask them what they’re looing for. They’ll tell you the times they look for that will get scholarship $$ and times for walk-ons.

Good luck!
