What about chances for summer programs?

Hello, everyone. I always see a lot of stuff about the chances that someone will get into a college, but rarely do I see a summer program chance me thread. So here we go!

I'm a rising Asian male junior in a fairly affluent northeastern suburban neighborhood. I want to attend some useful summer programs, but I don’t want to be wasting my time applying to places where I have no chance. So here are some of the summer programs I am looking at: TASP, RSI, New Jersey Gov School or Scholars Program, and SUMAC.

Here are my stats:

GPA:
Freshman year: 3.8
Sophomore: 4.2

Ranking: Top 10% in a class of 300+ (probably higher, but rankings don’t come out in my school until Senior year)

Classes Taken: Have taken the highest available classes for both freshman and sophomore years with the exception of math in which I am one year ahead and take classes with juniors. Self-studied for AP WORLD HIST and took AP STAT as an elective during sophomore year. Honors choir both freshman and sophomore years.

Next Year's classes: AP Bio, Honors choir, APUSH, AP LANG, AP CALC BC, Honors Physics, Spanish IV honors, AP ECON, and will self-study for AP ENVIRO and PSYCH. (most rigorous course load available)

PSAT: 72 CR, 80M, 80 WR (reminder: sophomore score, will take again)
SAT: 790 CR, 760 M, 740 WR (Will Retake)
Math IIC: 800
AP: Word History 5, Statistics 5

School EC’s: Class President, Member of the Principal’s Cabinet, Founder and President of Sierra Student Coalition, Varsity Debate Team, Varsity Wrestling, One Acts Festival, President of Math Club (Varsity), President of Tutoring Club

Community Service: about 100 hours at Nature Center
About 50 hours tutoring small children in an after school program

Honors: AMC-12: 109.5, School Winner, 7th in state for 10 graders
3rd place in Seton Hall math competition
Honorable mention by the National Science Teachers Association for a research project I did on nanotechnology. (I didn’t win because my website was in the wrong format)
New Jersey Mathematics League Certificate of Merit
Overall Highest Scoring Sophomore of Math Club
1st place in County Debate League
2 Varsity Letters for wrestling and 1 for Math

So there it is. If it counts for anything, I enjoy all of my EC's and am somewhat of an environmentalist.

Comments on my chances of getting into any of these programs or recommendations for better programs would be appreciated.

I went to SUMaC this year and it was a wonderful experience. Based on these stats I think you'd get in if you do well on the admissions test. I say this only from personal experience and the experience of my roommates. I'm not sure of the exact weight given to the test, but I think its reasonably important.

TASP hardly cares about stats (I did TASP this past summer). They care about your essays and your interviews. How passionate, opinionated, etc. you are.

Yeah, none of that will matter for TASP. Applying to that will require you to write some very eloquent and insightful essays, so if you don't think you'll be capable of at least being in the top 20% of some really self-motivated, self-selected candidates on the basis of these essays, it might be a waste of time.

I don't think your chances for RSI are that good either. :/ Your math/science credentials are good but not good enough. TASP and RSI are intense. If you're into science though there are a LOT of places where you can do research, so maybe look into that?

yeah, both tasp and rsi are long shots for me, but I'm hoping I'll get into either gov school or scholars program.
