yea textbook problems with changed numbers most of the time, i didn’t think they were that bad, a lot of them you can just plug into a formula and get an answer without even knowing what you’re doing lol

I haven’t used it myself yet (dun dun dun), but from what I’ve heard, one thing about Mastering Physics is that it can be horrendously nitpicky, that you can get a question wrong just because you forgot to write the subscript, or something like that.

You’re right–you’re given textbook problems, but if you enter wrong answers you’re given additional (four? I think) opportunities to try again on a given question. You lose an inconsequential amt of points for each incorrect guess. The only annoying part is that upon entering a wrong answer the software just tells you that you’re wrong, and nothing more–you’re not given any hints as to what you may have done wrong. If you exhaust all your guesses on a given question, you get no credit for the question. So I guess the main thing is that there’s no real way of giving out partial credit. On the flip side, most everyone does well on Mastering Physics hw anyway due to the high number of guesses

does 7A and 8A both use mastering physics? why are these CD things (mp, OWL for chem 1A) so expensive at the student store?! are they a special edition or something?
