I know it is a bit early, since I haven't received their decision yet but I knew what they would reply even before I applied. What if I score higher on the sats and apply again for the class of 2011? Btw. I am currelty taking an year off and I am working and studying languages but what about taking a second year off? Does it sound sensible?? And how would they look at me if I applied again just after being rejected once?

Higher on SATs alone is not enough. We did have someone on CC who reapplied after a gap year and was rejected again, but the opposite has also happened. Keep in mind that there are many roads to success and happiness, so unless your greatest dream is Princeton undergrad, I suggest you consider your other options. Good luck!

Until grade 12, my greatest dream was to be a Princeton Undergrad. I love Princeton and I would do anything to be there. But well, you gotta ask yourself is it really worth that much taking a second year off. I mean will going to Princeton really make you a winner and a big shot in life? Can't you do it throught simple hard work even if you enter a reasonable college? I wanted to drop a year after getting def. early and will probably get rejected now, although i haven't received a letter yet. But I realized that maybe its not worth it. I got into Tufts and HMC, so I would be heading there, hopefully, if my dad lets me. I suggest you do the same. Settle down, study, graduate. Its much better that dropping a year and then enrolling into a college while all your friends would by then finish year 2. I guess its the path of the least risk too.

Do not wait for another year. Go to the best college you can get into and work as hard as you can. Consider spending that extra yeart to get a Masters degree. It is possible to get a masters degree in a year or a year-and-a-half. If your grades are good and you have a great GRE score you can get into some of the best schools to do an MA/MSc. The other option is to do two majors or two degrees that can be done in five years from the same university.
