How much weight do colleges actually put on the rank of your highschool in the nation (i.e. USNWR)? I go to a competitive public highschool, but it is unranked because more than 50% of admitted students are selected by a entrance test. Can anyone relate?

The colleges don't care how your high school ranks (or doesn't rank) in the USNWR because it is a stupid ranking system. Many colleges get to know high schools by reviewing applications from the school over time. If a lot of students apply to a certain school, the admissions office will be very familiar with it. If you are one of the few or only students from your high school to apply to a particular college and present as an interesting candidate, the college will take the time to discover more about your high school. So don't worry about it.
