Hi, my AP physics grade has been 98 the past term and will be in that area this term. However, I totally bombed on the physics AP today, and will probably get a 4, or if the curve is bad then a 3. I will also take the SAT II in physics and plan to get an 800. Will the bad AP grade diminish my 98 in the class?

If you do well on the SAT II (ie 740+) then its fine. If not it screams grade inflation.

The score one makes on the AP exam does not affect the class average. At least it's like that at our school.

Edit: Never mind, I see what you're saying. I think I'm in the same boat. I have a 98-99 in that class but I don't think I did too well on the AP exam. I probably managed a 4.

People who complain about "only" getting a 4 need to get a grip.

It's not their fault that they're smarter than those who don't complain as often.

Except that they really aren't. Most people who are reasonably smart realize a 4 gets them credit at most places that take AP grades, and credit is all that matters, unless you actually need a 5 (usually only for tests like Physics B).

(cough) inflation (cough).

Mzlover3, if I understand what you're saying: intellect=whining

4s are good enough. But if you do get 1s with a high grade in the class, that puts the credibility of the school's grading into question.

I'm on track to get a 105 in AP physics B this semster (103 last semester) and I'm pretty sure I made a 2 today....my teacher's highest passing rate ever was 11% and he's never had a 4.....talk about grade inflation

on the same note what effect does a 5 have on an 88?
my calculus teacher thinks thats the grade i deserve, despite the fact i get like 3 wrong on an AP MC exam and all the FRQ correct

has anyone had their grades raised for getting a high AP score?

yeah in AP world i got B's both semesters and passed AP test and raised both to A's

a 105 is pretty high....

A 98???? ...as in a 98% in the class. So you are saying that you get 98 out of every 100 points in that class?...so like near flawless...and this is an AP class too? How can you not manage a 5?

my ap class was insane and most people had like a b or a c or a low a and it was realllllllllllly hard but people generally get 4's and 5's on thetest
