What Alternate Major?

If a university offers the same major in multiple colleges, would choosing the same major in different colleges as first and alternate majors be wise? Or would it better to choose a completely different major for an alternate in order to have a higher chance of acceptance(if rejected from first major)? I’m applying to Wisconsin-Madison, to be specific.
