Last time I took the SAT I got a 680 math (-6). I'm studying intensely for the math and writing sections for the October test, and I've seen a lot of improvement in my writing, but not so with my math. I'm almost done with all the blue book math sections but I'm consistently getting 2 or 3 wrong in each section. One of the question I get wrong is a stupid mistake, and the other one or two wrong I have no idea how to do. Maybe it's just a mental roadblock. Maybe I'm thinking too hard. Does anyone have any tips for improving my math score?

Try to be versatile on the one you don't know how to do. Try different approaches like using the answer choices, making up numbers for variables (plugging in), drawing or re-drawing figures, writing out as much as you can. In fact, for practice, try to figure out alternative methods for the medium and hard questions that you DO know how to do...there are usually at least a couple of ways to solve math problems. And of course learn how to do the ones you can't figure out on your own...ask about questions here.

Thanks for the tips.
