What am I missing?

Hello all, I am a senior who is trying to widen my college search. I want to go to a large university but honestly as long as the campus has some school spirit I can go to a smaller school. I am 95% sure that I will go to U of Alabama but my parents are urging me to apply to other colleges. Lastly, I want to major in nursing.

Stats
3.78 unweighted GPA
4.48 weighted
30 ACT
Ranked 6/372

My parents can pay up to $15,000-17,000 a year.

If you are happy w Bama and the price is right, then why torture yourself?

Well my parents are the ones who are pushing me to explore other colleges. While they support me no matter where I go, they also want to be assured that I have at least looked into other options. And I do agree with them that attending a college 1600+ miles away is a momentous life decision and one that should not be taken lightly. So far Bama and Arizona State (flagship) are the only two colleges I’ve applied for.

You can look for options here: http://automaticfulltuition.yolasite.com/ With full tuition your parents could pay room, board and books.

University of Alabama requires a 32 ACT for Out-of-State applicant in order to receive full tuition (non-engineering/computer science major). Your ACT score is 30. Are you talking about the University of Alabama-Huntsville or University of Alabama-Birmingham?

What’s your home state?

From another thread - AZ.

Wow, I’m so sorry for the confusion! I just re-read my beginning post and realized I typed 15,000-17,000 but I meant 25,000-27,000! That’s what you get after being up for 16 hours! I am very fortunate to have parents that built up my college fund from a very young age. From Alabama I would receive 2/3 off tuition so it makes it very affordable.

Since you have two safeties you like and can afford why not throw the dice and go big?

Try Florida State, Kentucky, Kansas…all in towns a bit livelier than Tuscaloosa. Boston college?

I’d apply to Northeastern-it’s a bit of a reach but you’ve already got safeties. I’d second BC. Maybe Marquette?
