<p>This is a new issue and I don't really know where to start but I guess I will ask here. I am a freshman at another top school but just left on a medical leave. I'm not going back until next fall because I am going to just take the second semester off to do something else. Therefore, I won't have any college credits (only the AP credits I came in with). Would I be a freshman when applying to schools?</p>
<p>Good question. You probably should take it up directly with the admissions office at each college/university that you apply to. You will need to account for the entire year since HS graduation, and should prepare a formal explanation for your reasons for not returning to your original college/university if asked.</p>
