<p>Start a landscaping + snow plowing business. Not just cutting lawns, but being able to do large mulch installs, lawn renovations, bush + tree installations, walkways, bobcat work, reliable and quick snow service. Get to know you market, and find a niche. Then advertise like crazy the first year or two, followed by endless nights and work on weekends. Network with other contractors in you area. Get (sub)contracts through them. Learn how to do everything, present a professional image, and upsell. Do a good job and by the third year advertising consists of a lettered truck and trailer, and referrals from current customers. And the hours go way down, as you get faster equipment.</p>
<p>Another guy I know started a cleaning business when he was 14. By the end of high school he was at the 300k mark. Now he is 35 and approaching the 2mil/year mark.</p>
<p>Im going to volunteer at the Hellen Kellar National Center starting this summer and Im visiting it this wednesday w/ my club...Its a center that works w/ deaf-blind students..its about a 20 minute drive from my house...and 5 minutes from my school. my principal gave the idea to me...</p>

<p>Be a national something champion. Science Olympiad, for example.. that has a 23 events, ur bound to find something ur good at. and u pile up on medals if ur team's good enough to actually get to nationals.</p>

<p>Okay, I saw one in our local paper a couple of years ago, in the Scholar of the Week section. They always spotlight three seniors from different towns. This week, one of the kids was completely amazing. The description of this boy was truly jaw-dropping. GPA around 4.5, sky-high SATs, and his ecs were out of this world. He was president of his class, valedictorian, captain of a sports team, editor of the paper, PLUS he had started a cancer charity that had raised a lot lot lot of money for research...most of it raised by him personally. The kicker was that he had had cancer himself as a young child and had survived it. He was going to Harvard, BTW.</p>
<p>I personally drew a crucial part of the plans for an off-ramp from the San Francisco Bay Bridge.</p>
<p>i laid each and every brick to bylery hall's exterior single-handedly in the time it took you to complete the essay portion of the new SAT I as an extension of Habitat for Humanity.</p>
<p>besides that, i founded an organization that helps emotionally and socially isolated chinese immigrants to learn english and have mentors, studied at a russian university on a scholarship last summer after winning the national russian speaking and literature competition, and this year got a 100% scholarship to study in germany as an exchange student for senior year.</p>
<p>my friend had seven published nonfiction works in the library of congress. wled by both harvard and yale.</p>
