So, I'll be starting my Sophomore year this fall at a 3rd tier state university in Pennsylvania(woo woo!) and am probably going to apply to Fordham and Barnard (a big reach for me, I schpose) for my Junior year.

Well, I'm not too worried about Fordham, but Barnard (my first choice between the two) is a little shaky. My SAT scores from high school are, to put it simply, crap. I have a 1660 on the new scale (670 Verbal, 610 Writing, and an astonishingly dismal 380 in math). I did not take the SAT IIs. Would it be worth my while, if I am applying for Junior standing, to retake the SATs and maybe take two or three of the subject tests?

Anyways, here are the rest of my stats:

HS GPA: 86% Top 50% at a public high school. I know, the amount of prestige emanating from my person is still shocking, even to myself.

SAT's: 1660/2400 (670 V, 610 W, 380 M)

College GPA: Oh yes, I'm doing better now. 3.67 GPA (thanks to an 89.7 in geography. Grr.) And a 4.0 in my major, which is English, by the way.

Extracurriculars: Schoolwise - I'll be contributing to our literary magazine this year, as well as a collaborative anthology we put out each year, the newspaper, choir, and the honors program.

So what do you think? Any tips would be appreciated, especially on the SAT front, or if you have any suggestions for other schools that might be a better fit, let me know! Thanks. :)
