hey,
im a sophomore, and my plan for next year is
AP Physics
APChem
AP Bio
Calc BC
Pathology/Vertebrates
and Eng. requirement

I dont have room for french, and i only have 2 years of it, do you think it is more important to take AP physics or AP French if im going into medicine?

I like science a lot more, but im worried about meeting foreign language requirements for some colleges...since im going into medicine, do you think physics is important?

Foreign language would probably be more important. If you learned a foreign language, you would have the opportunity to practice in different countries.

Yeah, a lot of colleges want you to take a fews years of a language and to stay consistent about the classes you take. Isn't 4 sciences kind of overkill?

yeah, i guess foreign language is pretty important for most colleges, but maybe I can take AP physics next year, and french my senior year? would that look bad? i just dont want to leave a year in between physics and AP physics, but i know i can pick up french again...

I disagree...a lot. I think it would be better to take the AP physics. And it's so hard to get much out of an online course...at least it seems as though it would be...with physics especially. Self-study AP french, if you're desperate...or maybe take it next year, if you are able?

Were you aiming for physics b or physics c? Physics is hard, but I am in love with the subject...

Also, check with the teachers. If the AP french teacher is really awesome and the AP physics teacher sucks, go with french. And vice versa ;-)

About the message you posted last (I didn't see it)...yes, that would be fine...you could take ap physics as a junior and ap french as a senior. That would make ap physics less scary, also. Are you going to take C?

you can get a lot out of an online course - I've done it.
however, you've got to be EXTREMELY motivated and have good time management...and you have to actually read

about the foreign languages, if your school offers say only up to german 2, will you be penalized; will you have to find a german 3 equivalent elsewhere like in dual enrollment or something?

well, its kind of like an unwritten requirement at many schools to have physics. but if you think you could handle it, then take physics online, and take french in school. a lot of schools want 3-4 yrs of a foreign language.

Should take at least 3 years of foreign language, most take four.
Not taking physics won't kill you... Besides you can take it in your senior year. :)

tweetletoot;
theres only one AP Physics class offered at my school
whats the difference between B and C?
both the teachers are pretty cool, but french is ridiculously easy, and ive heard the ap physics teacher is pretty hard...

would it look really bad to take 4 sciences and drop a language? because i want to get into a combined BA/MD program, so i want to take a lot of science....has anyone taken AP bio, AP chem, and AP physics together? is it manageable with ECs and stuff?

i guess i might have to try an online class, if i cant get it in...does anyone know of particularly good ones?
