I am wondering what AP classes I should take and get the credit for before I go on to major in computer engineering (hopefully). Any suggestions/experiences?
Some suggestions are: AP Calculus BC, AP Physics C, and AP Computer Science. Keep in mind that none of them are necessary for a major in computer engineering (I know lots of CS majors who didn’t take Physics C or APCS in HS), but they should give you a bit of a head start.
Would u be better off just doing calculus AB instead of BC and Physics 1 instead of C? I’m not sure what the difference is, but I’m sure not a what you would call a genius.
That depends on your background and whether you are allowed to go straight into Calculus BC (some high schools require you have AB or have otherwise taken it).
I don’t know much about AP Physics 1/2 since it’s brand new, but I’m pretty sure it isn’t calculus based (Physics C is). So if you haven’t taken calculus, it’s probably a good idea to take Physics C after taking calculus.
Another difference is that some, but not all, colleges might only give credit for Calculus BC or Physics C exams.
