Hi, I was wondering what AP exam scores I should submit when applying. I know it can be different for different schools, but they never seem to say if it is better to be upfront and submit all of your scores or if just submitting the good ones makes a better impression.
These are my scores:
US His 5
World His 5
Human Geo 5
Euro 3
English Lang 5

So basically I am wondering if I should submit my Euro with my other AP Exams (the 3 wont count for credit to the schools I am applying to). Or if I dont, will they assume that I got worse than a 3?

But any help about submitting AP scores in general would be great. I feel confused about what part they play in the application process and in changing your chances of getting in.

Here is my take on the issue: As long as you get a 3 or higher, submit it! My rationale is that a 3 represents “qualified” on the AP scoring guide, so why not tell schools you’re qualified?

Also, it is always better to have taken the test, regardless of how you do, than to not take it. The reason is that it shows colleges that you are both confident and take advantage of opportunities. If you do an AP class and don’t take the test, you are basically saying you do not think you know the subject.

And yes, if you do not submit the Euro score, I believe they’ll assume you didn’t take the test or you got less than a 3. Since you only need a 3 or better to be a AP Scholar, clearly a 3 is still a good score.

I have read several different things about how AP scores factor into admissions. It seems like they play a very minor role. Since you are a National AP Scholar with Distinction, you can list that honor and that will be enough of a boost. Some schools don’t look at the scores themselves until it comes time for placement.

If you need anything else, please just ask!
